What to do When A Beloved American Girl Doll is Viciously Murdered…πŸ‘©πŸ»πŸ”ͺ🏩

When I was 12 years old or so I remember receiving the first catalogue in the mail introducing the American Doll girls. πŸ†•πŸ‘§πŸ½πŸ“°At the time it was just Samantha, Molly and Kit. I chose Molly. πŸ‘©πŸ»πŸ‘“ Yet I always loved Samantha and thought she was the prettiest with her long brown hair and modern clothing.πŸ‘š Before my girls had the chance to get her as part of their collection they retired her in the vault. Forever. πŸ—„Two Christmases ago I thought it would be a good idea to ask Santa to bring me an American Girl doll. πŸŽ…πŸΌ So what if I was 35, dolls have no age limit πŸ€”. Turns out AG received so much backlash against the retirement of Samantha they decided to release her out of the vault for what I thought was a limited time! πŸ”‘πŸ—πŸ—„β€΅οΈ I had a rough year and I thought I deserved Samantha! 😝 I was so excited for Xmas Eve, I ripped my present open with a big smile on my face thinking the girls would get a BIG kick out of it. 🎁 They didn’t. They were upset and crying and thought it was unfair and claimed I wouldn’t share with them! How rude!πŸ™„πŸ‘§πŸ½πŸ‘§πŸ½πŸ‘©πŸ½

Fast forward to Memorial Week,πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ the whole week we had several kids in and out of our house for play dates and bbqs. Tuesday morning after the weekend Hailey runs upstairs hysterically crying that “someone” killed her doll.😭😭

Call me an overreactor but this wasn’t just an oopsy. πŸ€”πŸ˜‘πŸ˜€πŸ™„This was a malicious and mean act I was horrified and angry that someone would destroy a special toy of ours. American Girl dolls are very sturdily made so whoever did it had to purposefully make a concerted effort to break her apart. It looked like someone either sliced her hip to hip πŸ—‘or 2 kids played a very nasty game of tug o war. Or she gave herself a tummy tuck lmao. I set off questioning the friends at my house that week, including my own kids (Shane- suspect numero uno) and nobody fessed up.πŸ”ŽπŸ”ŽπŸ”Ž So the mystery remains unsolved. Once the shock of dollgate wore off I decided to explore my options…πŸ“žπŸ’»πŸŽ₯

I called American Girl☎️ and explained to them that she was sliced from hip to hip and the stuffing was exploding out of all sides! 😱😱😱The lady talked me off the ledge and told me Samantha was 1. Not back in the vault πŸ—„βœ–οΈ
2. Could be repaired by purchasing a new torso! I had 2 options. I could pay to ship Samantha to the American Girl Hospital in Wisconsin πŸ“¦where they would fix her all up and reattach her new body and then pay to have her shipped back. πŸ“¬The other option was to take a trip to the American Girl Store πŸ—½and check her into the doll hospital. 🏩 They would ship her for free but I still needed to pay return shipping. At $120 a pop I considered if it was worth it to even go thru these annoying options, but I guess for $60 bucks I may as well just get her fixed up because she was fairly new and it would give her some “interesting” history.

Today we happened to be in the city so we checked Samantha into the hospital. 🏩

I am happy to report that Samantha will have a room with a view of the lake and Dylan opted against the private room but instead she will share a room with other dolls…lol ⛲️

She will be as good as new and we expect her return home in 4-6 weeks. πŸ†•πŸ‘©πŸ»

So if you have any murders in your home, or artists who like to draw on their dolls don’t fret! πŸ”ͺπŸ› πŸ”«πŸ–βœοΈπŸŽ¨You can fix them up with replacement parts.

It’s not cheapπŸ’° and it’s a big inconvenience πŸ‘ŽπŸ½but it’s better then your dolls looking like this…

Or…THIS 😳😳😳😳 (compliments of a kid we shall call “little orphan”)
