Hands down the best day of last summer was our Sea Bass fishing trip on November Rain Charters! π₯ππ½As soon as we touched down in the Hamptons this weekend we knew that was definitely our first stop! π£ And perfect for Father’s Day!π¨π»π£
We piled into the Sprinter and headed straight for Montauk! ππ
Reuniting with Captains Steve and Jill was like seeing old family friends again! π What’s different this time was the bomb we dropped on The Captain. π£This year our crew was a “little” different. We added Pips, my almost 90 year old Grandma,π΅πΌ Tanya, my 39 week pregnant sister π π½and Skyler our 1 year old babyπΆπ». He said all 3 were firsts for them, figures we nailed a trifecta in 1 try. Apprehensive,π§ we sailed off in sunny blue skies and rocky waters 16 people deep…
Dylan, just shy of 8 years old, was the first to drop her line. Instantaneously, she pulled up a fish!!! π§π½π
And from that minute on it didn’t stop…one fish after another, oftentimes 2 at a time.
Dylan easily caught 15 fish on her own. Huge keepers almost every time! π§π½ππ½ππ½It was raining fish for the next 3 hours. π£π£π£π£π«π£
In a 10 minute span I could easily cast 3 lines and catch at least 3 fish. I started a little rusty from last year, and by the end I would bait my line, cast, catch and then remove my fish from the hook. πͺπ½
Like a real showoff by the end I had baby in one arm rod in the other!ππ½πΆπ»π£
Steve and Jill barely had a moment to breathe. With at least 10 rods going at a time we had them running back and forth baiting, casting, removing fish and filleting! π£ππͺ
The music was blasting, πΆthe drinks were flowingπ», the crowd was roaring with excitement π¬πand the sun was shining. πWhat more could you ask for on Father’s Day???π₯π¨π»π£β
Every single person caught multiple fish! πππ Porgies for all ages- from 1 to 90 and everything in between! πΆπ»β‘οΈπ΅πΌ Skyler helped reel in a fish, Shane caught his first fish at age 3, Tanya, extremely pregnant and inappropriately fishing caught a few fish and of course Pips got in on the action.
If we know anything from this Keg Standing Granny it’s that she LOVES to be center of attention! π΅πΌπͺπ½π£
We had a blast with the crew our first time and they did not disappoint again! We look forward to a summer of excitement and future fishing trips…sea bass, fluke, striped bass and porgies, whatever it is we’ll take it. π ππ‘
We were so disappointed to learn that Wok n Roll Chinese Restaurant closed down, “you hook em we cook em”.π²πΌβοΈ But thankfully we found an awesome alternative- the Montauk Yacht Club! π€Steve stopped counting around 50 fish…he estimated 100 pounds of fish in our cooler! π―
After he bagged the fillets for us and we bid farewell and headed over to dinner. ππ½
They cooked the fish 3 ways: fried, pan seared with lemon and olive oil and blackened.
If you’re out in the East End this summer absolutely do not hesitate to check out November Rain ( +1 (646) 423-8806) IΒ guarantee you won’t be disappointed! π₯πIt’s nonstop action for all ages! Lots of smiles and happy daddies today, and once again everyone agreed it was the BEST DAY EVER! π£π¨π»πππ½ππ½ππ
