After Donald Trump I would say the next most polarizing topic is Sesame Place. 😱The haters, loud and strong band together singing their woeful tunes of dread and dislike. I’ve heard every reason in the book📜 why not to come to Sesame and I’m not about to give them air time.
Bottom line is everyone is here for the same reason- to see their kids smile and be happy! 😀
We stayed over the night before right across the street so it was easy in the morning, we had breakfast and arrived when the park opened at 10. 🎢
A few perks in the park, line cutting tickets 🎟and cabanas 🎪were already sold out so we zoomed to a table with shade by the kiddie area and set up our home base. Big kids, happy as can be, never complaining that it was too babyish, set off for the rides and roller coasters. One of our first stops was the lazy river!
2 hours in we met back by the big water jungle gym contraption for some water fun. 💦
I’ve always wanted to see what it felt like for that big bucket of water to be dumped on my head and with an over 90 degree day this was the temperature to do it in! 🌊The anticipation and excitement of waiting for the bucket to fall was FUN and be slammed on the head with gallons of water was FUN-NER! 👍🏾👏🏾
While the big kids were occupied on water rides and regular rides I bounced checkin out the different Sesame and Elmo shows.👹
They were cute and a good opportunity to see the characters up close in person.
Of course you need to line up for at least a half hour early for the Elmo Live show…
Also on their version of “Main Street” there are character greetings, where you can line up and get pics and autographs. 📝
The main gift shop called Mr Hooper’s Emporium is a Sesame Street lovers paradise with all kinds of merchandise and stuffed animals and toys and provided a much needed air condition break! 💰
At at the Emporium we even did a quick character story time and took pics…📖
Once again the character meals were all filled so we didn’t get to do that, although we’ve done it in the past and it was cute and fun! 🍔🍟For the families with children with allergies here is some Info…
Even with the lines being long and it being VERY hot outside we were basically satisfied and felt like we completed the park by 5pm.
The highlight was of course the 3pm Sesame Street parade with all the characters! Lots of smiling squealing kids and pointing fingers!👏🏾
My recommendation would be to have someone stake out your spot on the curb at least 45 mins in advance…and make sure it’s on the shade side because the worse thing is sitting their in beating sun watching a parade while you fry to death. 🌞✖️
When my girls were younger we thought we were slick and we waited an hour 🕘🕢🕒before the parade holding an awesome shady spot on a bench only not to realize that the sun would shift positions. By the time the parade started we were in the full on sun and disappointed! So think about the sun positioning when picking a spot, lay your towel our and enjoy the fun!🎉
All in all we had a really super day. We ended in the climbing jungle gym area and they had fun using their imagination and building things!
The kids ranging from 20 months to 10 were all happy, everyone was satisfied and had a great day! 🎊
Sesame is one of those bucketlist places that you have to check off with toddlers and even big kids can still enjoy! Lines, heat it’s worth it for smiling kiddies 😻
