The word of the day was ARTSY for all the artsy pics the kids had fun taking as we made our way around the Meatpacking District. We hopped into the sprinter πand took all 4 kids and 2 friends to the cityΒ for some new unique fun. ππ½πππ¬π½ We started off our day at the good ole Sugar Factory, a kid crowd favorite!
We couldn’t wait to try out their new INSANE milkshake line. π¦
We didn’t even wait for dessert we skipped right ahead!
With lots of zainy flavors to choose from we counted down the minutes till they arrived.
πThe girls were in Instagram picture taking heaven. πΈπΈπΈπΈ And yes that is a cheeseburger and bacon perched on the top of Hailey’s milkshake! πβοΈ
As luck would have it, a friend of mine, we shall call Ms. Photographer, recommended I take the girls to the Samsung Studio and whattya know it was literally right next to the Sugar Factory.π
We headed straight for the SOCIAL GALAXY.
You give the attendant your instagram handle (it has to be public), put shoe covers on your feet and the enter what feels like a mirrored fun house.π
You turn the corner and enter an Instagram galaxy, everywhere you look you will find all
Your Instagram pictures and captions it’s really an awesome experience and a picture taking fantasy!π±πΈπ±πΈ
Tween moms beware because your kids are gonna flip the heck out.ππ I’ll be honest I did my fair share of squealing as well!ππ½
We spent a fair amount of time in the tunnel taking turns putting up our accounts and posing for pics…we were lucky it wasn’t very busy and we had the tunnel to ourself. ππ½
Then we moved on to explore the rest of the Samsung store which had a museum like feel.
The virtual reality roller coasters were for 13 years old and over so that was disappointing. π’βοΈInstead we headed upstairs to try out the Samsung VR gear which is a virtual reality headset. ππYou take a seat in the 360 degree spinning chair and experience the headset in virtual reality mode.π
The kids and I were impressed (annoyingly it only works with Samsung phones ππ½)
We entered the 360 degree selfie taking booth for some more selfie mirrored fun house fun.
On the way out we stopped to take our selfie to be projected on the HUMONGOUS screen- think IMAX big, only to be disappointed that it wasn’t working. π€π‘But it was definitely a cool experience and we would come back again in the future since I think the plan is for them to change the “exhibits”. βοΈβοΈβοΈ
When we exited the Samsung store we noticed the Highline was right across the street, and since the sun came out, our next idea was born.Β But first the girls got drawn to a perfume store next door called Bond St No. 9. Another artsy picture taking opportunity for the girls. They had beautifully uniqued shaped bottles of all colors, and even some that were bedazzled.β€οΈππππ The sales attendant was very patient and let the girls smell each fragrance that they asked about. π¨π¨π¨
Once we couldn’t smell anymore, we exited and headed to the High Line!ππΌβοΈ
I was so excited to finally be able to walk the High Line.π€ It’s been on my bucket list of things to do in NYC but each time we came to the city the weather wasn’t ideal and what’s the point of doing a nice leisurely walk in yucky weather?π«π¬π§βοΈ Since the sun was shining and it was a warm 70 degree day we nabbed the opportunity and picked it up around 14th street and exited at 29th street. πΆπ½ββοΈπΆπ½ββοΈπΆπ½ββοΈπΆπ½ββοΈπΆπ½ββοΈ
We stopped along the way to take several artsy pictures in front of cool buildings, gardens or cool spots.πΈπ½π’ There were also food and drinkπΉπ spots along the way and several seating/bench/Lounging opportunities to relax and enjoy the βοΈ! I really enjoyed the beautiful greenery of gardens and various grasses. πΎπΏπ³ππΈ
By the time we left the Highline we must have amassed a hundred pictures from our artsy day and only 3 hours had passed! πΈβοΈ
BUT our day wasn’t over…we still had some energy left…but it deserves its own post…so stay tuned for Part 2 of our fun fall day in NYC!π½π²ππππ
