The Best Kept Secret in DC Lead Us To THE BEST DAY EVER ๐Ÿ›๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธโ“

Did you know that the Senate and Congress House Buildings are open to the public โ“โ“โ“โ“โ“You just have to pass through metal detectors, but after that you are free to roam and take pics outside the offices of your choiceโ—๏ธโ—๏ธโ—๏ธWHATโ‰๏ธโ‰๏ธ This was breaking incredible newsโ€ผ๏ธโ€ผ๏ธ (*** we took the Acela train out of Penn Station on Amtrak and it was as easy 3/3.5 hour train ride and it arrived in Union Station 2 blocks from the Capitol FYI***) We started off our day on the steps of the Supreme Court where we metttttttttt our first CNN crew!โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

They tipped us off and told us that Pres Trump would be arriving on Capitol Hill 10 minutes later. ๐Ÿ˜ณ So we literally SPRINTED ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฝdown through the Capitol and literally made our way through a sea of 1000s of police officers ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธfor the 36th Annual Police Officers Memorial Service to honor fallen officers of 2016/2017. ๐Ÿ’“

By miracle, the seas parted, and Hailey lead us to the most beautiful spot we could have found in the entire crowd, front and center.

We were as close as the public could seriously get and we got to see VP Pence and Pres Trump speak in the flesh. ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Putting my strong negative feelings aside for Trump๐Ÿ˜, it was still a beautiful moment to be part of. ๐Ÿ’“

With not one cloud, the sun was shining down๐ŸŒž on the Capitol and I felt so proud to be amongst so many heroes and be at our Nations Capitol. ๐Ÿ˜

Next on our agenda was the main event of the day.๐ŸŽ‰ A tour of the Capitol arranged by my Congressman Tom Suozzi of NY (3rd District). Everyone can contact their own Congressmen and request tickets for a tour!

We checked into the Cannon House Building and went through security.

BOOM right away we found House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s Office! ๐Ÿ˜

Later on in the day they were so gracious and allowed us to literally go into HER personal office and I sat at THE MINORITY LEADERS DESK! Wow wow WOW! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

We arrived at Congressman Suozzi’s office and were greeted by lots of smiles and friendly staff!!! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Then we were off on our tour ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿฝ , making a pit stop in Suozzi’s actual private office.

My 1st time ever being in a Congressmans office I was speechless.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿค His staffer that showed us around was like a walking Encyclopedia!๐Ÿ“œ

We surely kept him busy with nonstop questions and believe it or not we only stumped him once!!! He was brilliant and patient and affable and showed us so many amazing parts of the Capitol (House) side that it will surely go down in history as one of my favorite days ever!!! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’™

Original Supreme Court at the Capitol ๐Ÿ›

The view from the famous crowd size of Trumps Innauguration

We were so grateful and loved every minute of the tourโ—๏ธโ—๏ธโ—๏ธAt this point we were set off on our own on the 2nd floor on the Cannon House Office building and began to wander each floor seeing which recognizable Congressmen we could find! Here a some of the faves! ๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’“

When we arrived at Congressman Peter Kings office, I hesitated. ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

A cowardly Republican who won’t even hold a townhall in Long Island, I decided to go in anyway and check out his office, which looked more like a shrine to his accomplishments.

Whatever. ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜ Considering how much hatred there is for him I was surprised to see how easily I could walk into his office, with just a young intern sitting at he desk. After exiting the building we stopped for a quick lunch and then headed straight for the Hart Senate Building!

Upon arriving we headed up to the 3rd floor and what would you know BOOM first office we see is Senator Elizabeth Warrens!!!

Not knowing what to expect, but going off of how approachable the House Offices were I opened the door confidently and politely requested to see her office. I dunno.

And the lady was a little taken aback but went behind the scenes and then said yes we can take a quick look!!

I sat at THE ELIZABETH WARRENS desk with her BRAND NEW book! Another amazing moment! Feeling uber confident after our 100% success we made our way to NY Senator Schumer’s Office and blew right in and got DENIED!!! Cmonnnn! ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ค

We were told its “office policy”. ๐Ÿ˜ญ And then I was like who the heck do we think we are? We got too comfy! It was too good to be true! By then it was 5:55pm we headed to Senator Bernie Sanders office and we waltzed right in JUUUUUST as Bernie was walking into his office. A staffer quickly shut the door behind him and I felt the berrrrrn. Shoulders slumped we settled for a pic outside his office. ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

Berns building in the Dirksen Building has solid wood doors where the other Harr building was modern with clear glass you could see right in. So once their offices closed there’s nothing to see. So we just wandered the floors taking pics in front of recognizable senators.

We ended the day in our uber heading to the White House juuuuuuuust as news broke that President Trump shared highly classified info with the Russians. ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ต

We jetted ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฝto the North Lawn in search of National Security Advisor McMaster’s Press conference and saw diddly squat…but settled for a pretty cool view of the Press Apron/ Pebble Beach also known as the tents where the major networks setup to do their interviews at the White House.

I saw 2 heads from very far and I recognized the grey head right away, my love, my boyfriend Jim Acosta from CNN!

Next to him was a white haired reporter, in an excited and probably inappropriate moment I shouted what I guessed to be his name JOHN, and whattya know he stopped and turned so we started to all wave and he waved back…it was the enemy of the people…FOX NEWS and their correspondent John Roberts!

Intense hatred aside for faux news ๐ŸฆŠ๐Ÿ˜กโŒ I actually like John Robert because he always asks tough questions at Spicer’s Press conferences. We ended the day asking the Secret Service officer if he could point out the bush ๐ŸŒณthat Spicer hid in, to which he said “I don’t think he hid in the bush?!” Snarky me, I apologized and corrected myself and said “you’re right! Among the bushes!”๐Ÿ˜ˆ๐Ÿคฃ The crowd had a good laugh and I could tell by the twinkle in his eyeโœจ he enjoyed it too!

What a day, 10 miles later of walking and I’m pooped! ๐Ÿ’ฉExcept when I wake up in 8 hours I’ll just be waking up to the biggest accusation of Trump’s presidency thus far… stay tuned…live on the sceneโ—๏ธโ—๏ธโ—๏ธ๐ŸŽฅ

PS- To all those who have wondered, I’ll let you decide…could my 11 year old Hailey learn any of this behind a school desk today? ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ #learningontheroad #learningthroughseeing
