Obviously I’ve heard of Graceland and obviously I know it had to do with Elvis but other than that I had no expectations. 🤷🏽♀️
I didn’t know Elvis had a twin brother that was stillborn named Jesse. 👬 I didn’t know Graceland was named after a family member of the previous owner. I didn’t know Graceland was bought for only $102k when Elvis was only 22 years old. 💰I didn’t know that the 2nd floor is completely closed to public and NO ONE other than Priscilla, Lisa Marie and the Curator has ever been up there since his death.
I didn’t know his middle name on his grave was misspelled fueling conspiracy theories as the number one reason why he’s still alive, because he didn’t want his real name on a grave until he was actually dead.
Even as someone who didn’t live during his era, and my affinity for his music was low, it was hard NOT to be moved and feel at awe at Graceland. 🙌🏽 One of America’s most influential people still to this day and a huge tragic loss.
Throughout Graceland you could see examples of his accomplishments from Gold records to awards of honor. 🥇🏆🎤
You may not go into Graceland as a big fan, but after touring the compound, watching videos and seeing his belongings in person you will leave with a greater understanding of the impact he had and what a huge loss his death is! ♥️
