So THAT’S What Graceland Looks Like! πŸ‘¨πŸ»πŸŽ€πŸŽ΅πŸ‘‘πŸ°

Obviously I’ve heard of Graceland and obviously I know it had to do with Elvis but other than that I had no expectations. πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

I didn’t know where it was and I didn’t know what was inside. Turns out Graceland is in Memphis, Tennessee! 🎷🎸🎀🎢

I didn’t know it was the 2nd most visited house in America. 🏰2️⃣

I didn’t know Elvis had a twin brother that was stillborn named Jesse. πŸ‘¬ I didn’t know Graceland was named after a family member of the previous owner. I didn’t know Graceland was bought for only $102k when Elvis was only 22 years old. πŸ’°I didn’t know that the 2nd floor is completely closed to public and NO ONE other than Priscilla, Lisa Marie and the Curator has ever been up there since his death.

I didn’t know Elvis and his extended family lived there. I didn’t know that Priscilla divorced Elvis 4 years before he died.

I didn’t know his middle name on his grave was misspelled fueling conspiracy theories as the number one reason why he’s still alive, because he didn’t want his real name on a grave until he was actually dead.

I didn’t know that we were coming during his 40th anniversary week and just a few days earlier there was a candlelight vigil of 50k people. πŸ•―πŸ•―πŸ•―

Even as someone who didn’t live during his era, and my affinity for his music was low, it was hard NOT to be moved and feel at awe at Graceland. πŸ™ŒπŸ½ One of America’s most influential people still to this day and a huge tragic loss.

Graceland was broken up into different sections. 🏒🏰

On display were his famous cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles like a tractor, go karts, golf carts and trikes etc…πŸš™πŸ›΅πŸš²πŸŽ

Several costumes and shoes he wore in his concerts were behind glass, all with his signature bell bottom flares and many with bejeweled capes. πŸ’ŽπŸ’ŽπŸ’ŽπŸ‘˜

Throughout Graceland you could see examples of his accomplishments from Gold records to awards of honor. πŸ₯‡πŸ†πŸŽ€

There were family pictures and mementos and odd knickknacks all over.πŸ–Ό

We toured through the house, which by the way is still in use by his family to this day. 🏰The dining room and kitchen is still used for family meals as is the rest of the 17k square foot compound.

You may not go into Graceland as a big fan, but after touring the compound, watching videos and seeing his belongings in person you will leave with a greater understanding of the impact he had and what a huge loss his death is! β™₯️

Ps- Elvis, Priscilla, and Lisa Marie weren’t bad to look at either! πŸ˜³πŸ€΄πŸ»πŸ‘ΈπŸ»πŸ‘§πŸΌ

Here are 3 quick video clips of Graceland! πŸ“½β€‹β€‹
