Bingo!!!🎉 You guys I hit the children’s literature jackpot!📖🥇 I found the PERFECT book to capture my toddlers attention in the most unique and hysterical way and I HAD to run straight here to tell you! 🏆 It’s called
“This is a Ball” by Beck and Matt Stanton.
Ever since we decided to roadschool our kids for 7 weeks while we travel America I have been given the gift of time. ⏱So yesterday at Barnes and Nobles I got inspired to explore!🔎Not only did it get their attention from the get go but it had them laughing in stitches from cover to end.😂 The kind of laugh where they couldn’t contain their sloppy little bodies.
The kind of laugh that I HAD to video because I wanted to remember those innocent boisterous and contagious little boy belly laughs for the rest of my life. 📽🎥A new level of sillyness and cuteness for the Shapiro brothers! 👦🏻👦🏻
As soon as I saw the title and skimmed through the book I knew my 4 year old would love it right away. 🙌🏽Shane is the kind of kid who likes to be a jokester. Once he’s riled up he can get really silly and rambunctious.😈 ITS PERFECT! He will just eat this book up I imagined. And BOY was I RIGHT!!! 👏🏽 He couldn’t get enough, laughing and rolling around delighting in correcting and challenging me on every “mistake” in the book that I “made”.
I figured that since Skyler is only 2, he probably wouldn’t get the humor of the book. But would still enjoy being read to (4th kid, doesn’t happen very much or at all- don’t judge🤔) or at the very least would crack up watching Shane’s reaction.🤣 Boy was I WRONG! He TOTALLY got the book! What an unexpected bonus! Not only did he GET the joke but he was trying to out-scream Shane louder and faster! They both were howling with “frustrated laughter” competing to correct their silly mommy in between catching their breaths! 👍🏽
This clever concept for a children’s book of course had me saying “Gosh why didn’t I think of this idea!”💡 I will also add that my 11 year old daughter totally appreciated the book and found it quite entertaining watching the boys “act a fool” and I could tell she was just as excited to see what each new page would bring! 👧🏻
This is the kind of book that if you bring to your child’s nursery class to share as a read aloud, you will guarantee yourself a roaring crowd and many happy little faces. 😁I’m counting down the days till Shane’s 5th birthday…Room 12 geeeeet ready!!! 👍🏽🙌🏽👏🏽📖
This is definitely my new go-to gift for all kids!!! The boys begged me to read it several times tonight, they just couldn’t get enough! This is definitely a family favorite for sure! 👏🏽 It’s interactive and not your average book. Birthdays, holidays, and ANY DAYS! 🎁🎁🎁 You can buy it here on Amazon for cheap now! ENJOY! You’re welcome!!! 😘👍🏽👏🏽🎉
PS- while we’re at it…I think I just discovered what could be my most favorite book ever. It’s called “the book of awesome” by Neil Pasricha.
I just started it tonight and I’m dying of both laughter, excitement and sadness that it will eventually end. 👏🏽🙌🏽The kids were getting mad at me at dinner because I kept on laughing so loud they said I was Obnoxious and attention seeking. Both true. (Yes I was reading during dinner and happy as a pig in shit). This is the first page and it basically sums up the book!
It’s chapters made up of anything as short as 2 sentences to 3 pages on the best joys in life. It reminds me of a book of memes. Or one of those hilarious Buzz Feed Posts that lists 25 things that make you think of XYZ that never gets old! The kind that you love and tag your friends on because you know they would appreciate it and think it’s just as funny as you do! So far I’ve read…
The wonders of the other side of the pillow, When a new cashier opens up a new register at a busy check out time, popping bubblewrap, finding your keys after looking forever… and the chapters go on and on in pure hysterics. Not only are these joys that everyone will appreciate by the way the writer describes them will have you cracking up and nodding your head in agreement! Here is a few pages…📖✅
I guess when the time comes there is a sequel called “The Book of (Even More) Awesome: Junk Drawers, Puppy Breath, the Smell of Sizzling…” YAY! More to look forward to!👍🏽
