Last chances to take your families to the beautiful train show at the New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx. “The Holiday Train Show is an annual family favorite with model trains traversing a magical landscape featuring over 150 replicas of New York landmarks made from plant parts.”
It’s an amazing site to see for all ages, boys and girls. 😍 The last day is January 20th, 2018 before it wraps up till next holiday season when it starts end of November again. 🎄
Your all inclusive ticket gives you a designated 1 hour window to see all the trains and that really is enough time and prices vary depending on day and time (we paid $30 Adult and $18 for each kid). 🎟🎟🎟 Thomas the Train show times do sell out fast from my experience so plan ahead!
The buildings are beautifully made and the kids have fun scouting the famous Thomas trains riding around the various 1/2 mike of tracks. Here are the boys finding Percy and Thomas! 🎉🔎
While parents will appreciate the famous landmarks more, there are plenty of sites that the kids will recognize. Here is St Patrick’s Cathedral, New York Public Library and the 59th St Bridge. 💒🌉
Timeout says “The garden lights up with its collection of trains that chug along a nearly half-mile track by 150 miniature NYC landmarks like the Empire State Building and Radio City Music Hall, all made of natural materials such as leaves, twigs, bark and berries.”
It’s all indoors but expect a chilly 10 minute walk from the Thomas Show to the conservancy with all the Train replicas. 🚶🏽♀️🚶🏿♂️We stumbled upon one of the most amazing Italian restaurants we’ve ever eaten at, its called Fiasco and it was 5 minutes away on Arthur Ave, so you could pair that together before or after.
